The Porthleven Prize (continued)
Around the harbour
I've already described the sound walk I created. It allowed visitors to experience sounds not normally audible such as the sound of snooker being played in the Institute. QR codes were used for my pieces and Grace's to identiy the pieces.
Lemon and Lime
I had a giant lemon and lime 3D printed to display near the harbour. They were done in two halves then stuck together. It was hard because they were so slender. But I kept going, and both were set: the lime above the kiln and the lemon atop the main sign. Both had solar-powered LEDs that lit up at night.
Why a lemon and lime? Well, they represented the present and the past. The lemon being the traditional accompaniment to fish and chips, while the lime is now a common partner to the Asian food that can now be found. And of course, lemons and limes were carried by sailors to prevent scurvy.
